The Trans-Atlantic Air Race

Paul Vaughan was an American who challenged Pa to beat him in the Daily Mail Air Race from the top of the PO Tower in London to the top of the Empire State Building in New York. The bet was for a new suit and Pa won.

Jesse Jackson came to a conference Pa chaired in London for the Duke. It was called Human Value Conference and was held in the Queen Elizabeth Hall South Bank. People came from all over the world. The other man in the photo is the Head of the Roman Catholic church in Brazil.

The man on Pa's left was Maxwell Joseph, Minister of Health. He came to Orpington to open a Spastic centre for children. Pa was Chairman of the committe raising the money and in fact gave 76% of the cash. The others are council officials.

The Steel House Pa designed and presented in the model village at the Ideal Home Exhibition about 1968. It was dismantled and now stands at Biggin Hill Airport.

1963

Mallorca house finished. Blue sailboat on trailor behind it was called Atalanta and was trailed from the UK.

This postcard was used tp sell the Harbour View estate in Bishopstone, Seaford.
